So, when my ear thermometer died it was time to find a new one. I decided to try this digital infrared ear thermometer at the recommendation of a friend. Well the best feature that I liked about this ear thermometer is the length and narrowness of the ear piece, because of its length and narrowness it is easy to place inside the ear canal of your baby. This is good because the deeper it can go (safely of course) the better and more accurate the reading is going to be. What's also nice about this digital ear thermometer is it is easy to handle and quite simple to use. It can read Celsius as well as Fahrenheit if you prefer one unit over the other. This was a good purchase. Thanks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well *by Z***C on April 25, 2014* We needed a new thermometer that read more accurately than the behind-the-ear version we have now. Our son has had two febrile seizures and it was very important to us to find a thermometer that reads correctly without always having to go the rectal route, which is so invasive to a toddler.We bought this one because after researching and reading reviews on a lot of different thermometer brands and kinds, it seemed like it had a silent potential to be a good choice. It's not flashy like a lot of the brands out there, but we are very happy with it so far. Our son has had two fevers since we bought this and we were able to compare readings to our old thermometer (which tends to jump all over the place), and it was a relief to finally have one at home that we feel works.The readings varied a tiny bit, to a few tenths of a degree, which makes me feel confident that we are at least reading in the true temperature range. It's much smaller in size than our old one, easier to pack and travel with, and it only takes a quick swab with a little alcohol to clean it, instead of disposable tips. The company sent 2 emails after purchase with helpful tips for accurate use, which we really appreciated. It is simple to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius, and turning the machine off between readings is actually less annoying than waiting the 9 seconds for it to clear on our old thermometer.All-in-all, we went into this purchase with very high hopes and no expectations, and this turned out to be exactly the right choice for our family. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick and easy to use *by A***T on May 20, 2014* I purchased this for one of my staff teachers in the preschool where I work. She loves it because it is small, quick, and easy to use and our nurse consultant agreed as well. I also love the fact that we don't need to keep buying thermometer covers for it. We just clean it thoroughly with alcohol prep pads between uses. Very pleased with our purchase!Addendum: We started having problems as described by others of inconsistent and very low readings. I cleaned the tip of the thermometer with a q-tip and the problem was solved.
