I do not own this yet so I'm unaware of how much hot air this might throw off as it runs-- if it is significant and you run an AC to cool your house-- this will add some cost to operate it as your AC will run longer to cool the house... That's was our first food experiment when we got our Big Boss. The instructions are in the cookbook. Basically need to dry the fresh cut fries with paper towel before cooking to remove excess moisture. Then brush it with oil. Or in our case, we mixed the uncooked fries with about 10 ml of cooking oil, hand mixed in a mixing bowl. Layer the fries in the pan. Set temperature to 400F and timer for 20 min as instructed. Fries turned out great. My children love it.
