The only lens hood I could find for this lens from Canon is cone shaped, and costs $25-$30. They don't appear to make a tulip lens for this that I could find, but it doesn't seem like you need one for this lens.I was going to buy the Canon ET-60, but since it doesn't have the cut away areas, I didn't think this one would cause any issues. And it goes on backwards for saving space in my camera bag.I purchased a tulip zoom lens for my 18-55mm lens that is Canon branded, and as far as material quality goes, I can't really tell any difference other than appearance... The Canon branded one looks a little nicer if you're comparing side-by-side.The Canon hood lens also has a 'fancier', kind of spring loaded mounting mechanism, but this one twists on just fine as well. However, even though they're the same diameter lenses, the 18-55mm lens hood doesn't fit the 75-300mm tightly...
