These are weight-loss stories written with humor and warmth, not to mention lots of good tips. Just a warning, if you have a serious weight problem you may find some of the stories a bit silly. For example, one woman confesses that she had three sizes of jeans in her closet--8, 10, and 12. She came to her turning point when she needed spanx to fit into the 12's. Many of us would say, "Oh, big deal, lady!"But some of the authors do start out as morbidly-obese people and have dramatic weight losses. Yet not all of the authors have big accomplishments to report. Some are just starting to change their ways. One woman reported a loss of five pounds. So it's not all daunting. I love the stories of how the authors put on the weight--the types of foods they were binging on. It's enjoyable reading--lots of honesty which is missing sometimes in some weight loss memoirs. Honesty and humor I would say are part of all the stories.A different sort of chicken soup but quite inspirational. I'd say that perhaps it does help to be at a point in your life where you're feeling motivated to begin and then the authors will give you the push you need. I know that I'm not always in the mood for reading inspirational weight-loss stories. It happens that I'm in that mind-set right now where I can handle a book about the battle of the bulge without wanting to scream. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chicken Soup for the Soul Shaping the New You *by C***7 on Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2012* I love the stories in this book.
