I will say that the Super-Grind is an order of magnitude worse, and not worth the savings in cost, though also better than other grinders I've tried in the same market segment.PROS:* Compact* Reasonably quiet* Lots of grind adjustment* Slowish motor (prevents beans from overheating as badly)* Simple care and use* BlackCONS:* Ceramic burr (contributes to beans overheating)* Disc burr, not conical burr (worse consistency of grounds)* The dial on the front is not for the grind setting and isn't explained except as "grind amount" in the manual* The gearing on the grind setting to the burr housing is pretty rough* The grounds receptacle has a lower capacity (4.8 oz) than the bean hopper (5.8 oz)* The tab on the bean hopper lid seems very flimsyThe best thing I can say about this grinder is that it works, and better than some of its competitors, such as a DeLonghi I had before. It's nothing to write home about, but the grind quality is decent and the price point is decent. I am a coffee enthusiast, so am certainly picky about my equipment, so perhaps take my evaluation with a bit of grain of salt, but I can definitely taste a difference in the resulting coffee, all other components of the process being the same, between this and my Ultra-Grind. I believe the difference can be attributed to the burrs themselves, as the motors seem to run at about the same speed. Ceramic burrs hold heat more and disc burrs don't move the grounds through as fast, both of which contribute to overheating the beans. I did notice that the consistency of the crema when I added my water to the grounds was even and voluminous but coarse, whereas from the Ultra-Grind, it was consistently very fine.Overall, for the $40-60 price range and/or if you want a decent grinder that doesn't dominate your countertop, this is a pretty good option. For context, I have had this grinder for two months and am writing the review after almost daily use.The Good:-Lots of different settings.-Decent noise level.-Perfect size for minimal counter space.-Great for the entry-level coffee enthusiast.The Bad:-Even on the finest grind setting, I still find I get a large/inconsistent grind. I am attributing this to the disc burr.-Because of this, I would not use this grinder for espresso as I was hoping to.-The lid for the bean hopper can be a bit finicky to get into place until you get used to it.-STATIC, oh my goodness, static everywhere. Perhaps. Just not this particular one. Despite the dial on the side that supposedly allows you to adjust the grind, it all comes out the same. Also, getting the thing out to clean the burrs is impossible the second time. The first time, it popped right off and scared the daylights out of me. That was the last time we were able to get it to come off, and we hadn't even used it yet.It's very noisy, which is not surprising, but the royal pain in the neck is trying to get the hopper lid back on so you can actually grind the beans. Really, it takes an act of god, 8 original swear words, full-moon sacrifice of a can of spam in the shape of a goat, and a curse upon thy neighbor's fleas. Then, if you're truly lucky and the coffee grinding gods are in a good mood, the lid will pop into place and the beans will become powder.Oh, and it's really messy to empty the catch container. Once we've finished grinding the beans, it's obvious what went on in the kitchen coffee corner because it looks like a coffee blizzard struck. We are not tidy people, but even that's pushing things a bit.
