## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly good
*by J***S on June 17, 2022*

Have had these for six weeks now and feel I can write a useful review. The Bangljian hearing aid is the most recent of four hearing aids I've had over the past 10 years, and I am finding it to be the best of all so far.I should state upfront that my hearing condition is different from what most users likely have. As a result of chronic middle ear infections in childhood I eventually lost my eardrum and most of the hearing in one ear only. I lived most of my life just relying on the one good ear and getting by okay for the most part.Once I retired and lost self-consciousnesses about wearing a hearing aid, I sampled several of the more expensive, professionally fitted hearing aids (including Costco); but didn't feel the benefit was worth the expense with any of them. Admittedly, this was ten years ago, so those products have no doubt improved. I decided to go the cheaper route and got one I could adjust myself from MD Hearing and was pleased to get results more suited to my needs. I will never get real close to normal hearing in my bad ear, but I wanted it to contribute something to my overall ability to understand what was being said and to just feel more "balanced" with my audio input. That hearing aid did the job nicely. When it needed replacing, the exact same model was not available, and I ended up getting the Lotus SP23 (a couple of times), which was very similar and achieved similar results, although the option for individualized adjustments did not exist. Most recently I went with the Banglijian ZIV 206 and have been quite impressed. I ordered a pair, even though I only wear one. I alternate the two on a daily basis and recharge one while I wear the other. Both aids have been functioning as advertised for six weeks now. The three hearing modes allow for some control based on your specific needs and on the hearing environment. Program 1 accentuates the higher frequencies, but even though that is where my hearing loss is the greatest, I find the input in that mode sounds "tinny" and harsh. (Note: I found that to be the case with all the first hearing aids I tried and was constantly told that you just had to get used to it. There is a lot of truth to that, but I like being able to tonethat harshness down when I can, even if it means sacrificing a bit of intelligibility).I found that using Program 2 puts more emphasis on the middle frequency sounds and gives me meaningful input without the tinniness. I was concerned about the power (or "gain") with these Banglijian aids since they are not as powerful as the Lotus SP 23 I had been using, but was most pleased to find that they give me what I need at the volume level setting of 4 (of 5 available). So my go-to setting when I put the aid on is Program 2, volume 4. I probably use that over 90 percent of the time and find it to be equal to or better than what I've grown accustomed to over the years. I sometimes click it into Program 3 when out in the wind or on my bike or in a particularly noisy environment. This mode greatly reduces the external noise, but it also provides barely perceptible input of the desired sounds, so for me it is almost the same as just taking the hearing aid out--which is what I had to do in those situations with the earlier aids I used.To maximize the results I needed for my condition, I used the thicker tube and and I wear the largest ear dome, which I find reasonably comfortable and when properly in place virtually eliminates any feedback squealing. When I do experience the feedback, it is almost always an indication that the earpiece is not fully inserted. I can even wear earphones over the hearing aid to listen to music while working in the yard, etc. and not get the feedback. I was never able to do that with any of the other aids I've owned. So yes, I would happily recommend giving these aids a try. At this price point, you've got little to lose.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Helpful but still working on them
*by J***O on December 24, 2021*

I’m newer to the hearing aid world because the military wrecked my hearing at way too young of an age. I’m trying to find something that helps me hear people talking around me and on the tv better because it’s such a strain. These definitely help, but I think I’m still working some things out. Here’s what I’ve got so far.Pro’s: the company has been emailing back and forth with me very promptly and I like that. I’m still in the middle of asking questions and I’m hopeful that they’ll be able to help me navigate these to find the right program for me. They definitely amplify sound and I stopped having to say “huh?” after every other word. That alone is such a relief. They stay pretty securely in my ears, much better than the bulky ones that look like headphones that I tried a while back just for the sake of trying SOMETHING. I love that these are way more discreet and even after she helped me read through the instructions and cut the tubes to fit, and she saw me out them in, she couldn’t tell they were there. I LOVE that!Cons:I can’t seem to figure out how to find a setting where EVERY noise in the room isn’t over amplified and fake sounding. I’ve gone through all three settings and at different volumes but I can’t figure it out. Ice hitting my cup, touching my hair near my ear, the ruffle of a plastic bag. Even on the lowest volume setting, it’s loud and over dramatized and that can’t be real life for me all day long. Just keep in mind that I’m still working on talking with the company who, again, has been very responsive to me, so I’m hoping there’s a solution for that. All in all, I’m not unhappy and I’m looking forward to still working on figuring these out because I just want to be able to HEAR. Will update my review when I’ve got more.

### ⭐ Junk times two pair
*by K***L on March 18, 2022*

Work great for about two weeks, first pair one just stopped charging dead, no green light no blue light dead.return for second pair as obviously it was a fluke.Again, two weeks one dies. This time it just keeps charging (green light) never charges.Take $200 and throw it out the window or take your chances buy double what you need and when they die, you might get on working pair. I don't right reviews, this time I did.
