The camera is very tactile and a good size to make operation easy. The quality of the images is good enough for a 7 year old budding photographer and he really likes printing the photos with the in-camera printer. The camera also has video capability, again it's good enough for a 7 year old but don't expect wonderous video footage from this camera. The camera also has some basic games which are also enjoyable. The battery lasts for a good amount of time and the camera is rechargable.
