A: Yes.  The button must be held down.  Once it is released the Vacuum will shut off.

**Q: It sprays the liquid out of the side or back. Does anyone else experience this?**
A: This has not happened for me.

**Q: does this work on 220 voltage without transformer?**
A: The voltage for the charger or tool is 120v. It is not recommended by the manufacturer to attempt to use a transformer or adapter to force the voltage to be used at 220v.
