It's thicker than I though it would be, which is good, but I needed to lay it out in the sun to heat up before all the folds would loosen up and make it more pliable, Even then it was difficult to fold into shape because it's thick. Our 100 lb dog ran across and edge and it's claws put a hole in it so when you lay it out, make sure nothing walks over it. Should work for a pond. Good luck. **Q: If a rock falls in the pond will it tare or rip it?** A: Our pond is very small and full of rocks, our grandchildren throw rocks in it sometimes and we have had no problems. It's a nice thick liner. We laid it iut in the yard open in the sun to help it be more pliable when placing it. So great. No more leaks! **Q: How can I smooth the liner out without ruining it? Mine arrived and the folds are so raised/prevalent..** A: I couldn’t. Could not form it to the pond shape either. After cutting it to size could not return it so… ended up throwing it away. Totally a waste of money.
