WintersteigerSki Vise Pro: 90mm Jaw/130mm Opening

I was using the Swix snowboard vices (we had both snowboards and skis), but they just didn't work well for skis. I've been researching ski vises for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on the Wintersteiger vises (I finally converted my wife from a snowboarder to a skier, freeing me of the need for a wide snowboard vise). I'm very happy I bought the Wintersteiger vises because I just tuned and waxed 5 pair of skis, and it was so much easier and better. The Wintersteiger vises are solid and hold the skis in place. The two end vises also rotate up and out to hold the ski at a 45 degree angle to make tuning the base and edges a little easier. At $200+, they aren't cheap, but if you tune and wax skis regularly, they are worth every penny.

States on box closes to an inch and a half. Only closes to two inches. Returned for a replacement and second clap only closed to two inches. Does not work on cc skiies.

Great vise for wider skis. Although I'll admit you can likely get away with their cheaper version that doesn't have the center clamp. The two ends provide enough support. The center is only used when doing base preps, waxing, and scrapping, yet the rubber grips provide enough support, on the ends, and if you have a really wide ski this gets off center b/c of the center clamp.

Smooth operation and made very well. We are a family of 4 that ski race, mountain ski, and snowboard (sometimes in the park). I will be making an adapter to better support snowboards, but this vise works great for out 110 wide skis and narrow race skis!

My favorite ski tuner (my husband) loved this surprise gift. The wider skis always posed a problem in his old vises. Now I have a happy husband and nicely tuned skis. Best price I could find. Should last a lifetime
