My 6 year old granddaughter lost the man who was her bonus dad. He died suddenly, shortly after he and her mother had split up and the relationship was amicable and they were learning how to co-parent. My granddaughter is sad and confused. This book allows her to both celebrate him and work through her feelings.

This book was recommended to me by a friend after my husband passed suddenly and unexpectedly. I bought one for my son (6) and one for my daughter (8). We go through the book together at the kitchen table and discuss it together. It is incredible to do this and gives good direction on addressing grief and missing a loved one. I highly recommend it when trying to help kids articulate and understand their feelings after a loss.

This book was recommended to me for my children who just lost a loved one.  I think it is such a perfect book that helps them go through their feelings, celebrate their loved ones life, and grieve.  It is an activity book that they write in, put pictures in, and use as a journal.  Best for kids over 5....
