**Q: How deep (or tall, or thick?) is the part that goes through the hole?  My desktop is 1" thick, and I need it to NOT extend below the bottom.**
A: You're good. It's only about 3/4" thick. Very happy with it BTW. High quality.

A: It does. It's two separate pieces. Makes it very easy to add as many items as you see fit. The item itself is also very sturdy and very nice. I have purchased two of them!

A: The hole is about 1" x 3/4"
