This was a great purchase - It's just like the Chick-fil-a waffle fries. I would buy this again - very well made and if your looking for that waffle fry cut - this is it. **Q: I'm having trouble making waffle fries when I'm at the largest setting - taking off the attachment completely.** A: Not had a problem with plate coming off, as long as you lift veggie clear when you twist and prepare for next stroke. Have had issues with thickness being uneven (thinner one side of slice thicker other), especially when using thicker setting, but that's just a matter of getting used to how much pressure to apply as you slice. Most of problems had are because of to much pressure applied when slicing. **Q: Is this an attachment or insert for the mando line?** A: This slicer is a stand-alone slicer, it is not an attachment or insert on other mandoline slicers. **Q: How long and how did you cook the fries? I am trying to bake them. What temperature and how long?** A: Baking is certainly a healthier option vs. frying.
