Because he's growing, the quality is great. He wears them year round. The Army Green is an excellent choice for anyone looking for "scouting type pants/shorts". The pockets are good. Every pair comes with a belt (that's a lot of belts). They do flex a little. The elastic in the waist is a nice feature. They pack small. Very comfy & a reasonable price. The only way they could be better, would be if I the lower legs were easier to match to the uppers (because we have so many in various sizes & colors) Best advice, follow the size chart. If you are close to the top end of the range; size up!

Really like these for hiking. Very comfortable. Thin material dries quickly. Stretch allows freedom of movement. Only drawback is the inordinately short front zipper. Super value for the money compared to what I have paid for similar brands…guess I can live with the short zipper.
