When you are getting a new laptop charger it is expected that they work right out of the box, and this one does that. This is a Lenovo Rectangle yellow tip charger, a VERY common newer standard, used on most recent Lenovo laptops, monitors and even all in one computers. This charger is 230W which means it will be able to give the juice to almost anything out there, even the most demanding all in one computer or gaming laptop. It will basically run anything that needs a lenovo rectangle yellow tip jack even the most powerful computer or docking station. This is so big and so powerful that it is likely overkill for your laptop, unless you laptop asks for at least 180W I would consider something smaller. Usually this amount of power is only needed for a All in One Lenovo Computer. It even uses the desktop Nema Cable.Having an extra charger is really good. You can keep one in the main place you use your laptop and keep your original in the laptop bag so you don’t have to wrap it up when you need to go mobile. I keep one plugged in by the sofa in the living room, where I sit and surf while watching TV, but my original one is in my laptop bag….It is always better to get a charger that is designed for your laptop. Those universal chargers are a bad idea, they can put out different voltages and can harm your computer, also the interchangeable tips have a lot of issues. When you buy a charger there are three things you need to look for.1. Tip, make sure the tip is exactly the side and length you want.2. Make sure the voltage is exactly correct. If you laptop wants 19V then feed it 19V, more or less could cause damage.3. Make sure the watts are more than enough. If your laptop calls for 65W it is OK and actually better to feed it more watts. It will only feed your laptops what it can handle. The main drawback to a charger with more watts is that it is bigger and heavier. If you get a charger that is smaller it will charge slower and may not even charge at all. Most gaming laptops need much more power than standard chargers and this 230W AC charger is enough to charge 99% of all Lenovo rectangle tip laptops out there.

I bought this charger for traveling as it was lighter than the one my pc came with. Went on vacation, tried it out, and it did not charge. The light came on briefly, but it stopped after about 15 minutes. Went the entire week without my computer.

This power supply is sold by zhiywoll and manufactured by Delta in PRC.There’s an error on the information decal on the back side of this zhiywoll PS’ body. The diagram of the box tip incorrectly shows the outer ring of the tip as being both negative and positive. The outside ring of the yellow box tip is negative the inner ring of the box is positive. This is obviously a misprint. Not a showstopper, just shoddy QC.The decal has logos for an huge array of entities that I do not recognize, as well as for CE, but not UL or FCC (mildly disappointing).The yellow box tip and 20VDC for notebook AC adapters was almost uniformly standard for higher end Lenovos, pre-USB-C PD power. As such, I knew that this zhiywoll PS would work with a Lenovo Legion Y530-ICH gaming laptop.The factory Y530-ICH PS provided by Lenovo, which is UL listed, is rated for 148.3 Watt hours and it always runs hot to the touch, nominally at 112°F-115°F, but even hotter when the fans are running and multiple ports are actively in use. I always felt that the factory PS was undersized for active gaming. The zhiywoll correctly reports it’s capacity to Lenovo’s pre-UEFI POST with no POST errors.This zhiywoll 230Wh PS is physically twice the volume of the factory Y530 charger and heavier, but it never runs hotter than 93°F-95°F, no matter how hard the Y530 is pushed. That’s 9°F-10°F cooler than the factory PS and I very much like that. There is also no way that the Y530 can ever demand more power than this PS can deliver. Overtaxing the factory PS was always a concern. I have greater peace of mind running the Y530 on this zhiywoll PS, even absent the UL and FCC logos, than on the factory PS.I’m very satisfied with this PS. Should anything change, I’ll update this review.

Shipping was quick, died in less than a week. Seller contacted me gave me options to replace or refund. Had already bought a local option and they quickly gave me a full refund.

The problem I have with my Lenovo Y545 laptop is that I always forget to bring the power adapter with me. To get it I have to crawl under my desk to unplug it and that’s a pain. I finally decided to get a 2nd power adapter so that I can leave one at home and keep one in my laptop bag. This also means I have a replacement if the factory adapter fails. I found the Zhiywoll replacement Lenovo power adapter works really well. The specifications on the back match my factory adapter & it works just just as good as the factory adapter. I did notice that the actual power cord on the Zhiywoll replacement adapter is 4ft 6in where the Lenovo factory adapter has a 5ft cord. For me this is really minor but depending on where you use your laptop just keep this in mind for proper placement. I really liked that the adapter cord has a Velcro style hook & loop strap. The cord that goes to the wall plug also has a similar strap allowing me to easily pack them both up to put in my laptop bag. That’s really thoughtful. This is a good find & a really nice replacement power adapter.

Like the title says - this looks and works like the stock adapter, but at a way better price. Now I don't have to lug my adapter around. I can keep one at work and another at home.I have a Lenovo Y740.
