Agribon floating row covers have all the qualities of other brands, while being more affordable and with seams double-bonded for ultra-strength. These floating rowcovers increase yields, prolong seasons, reduce soil erosion, protect against frost, speed up germination, minimize wind damage, conserve soil moisture, deter birds and protect against extreme temperatures. This has worked well for my ranunculus and anemones so far, with homemade low tunnels. We are zone 5b and in spring, have daytime temps up to 70 but nighttime temps down to 20 or below, so I have been covering the young plants at night and opening the tunnels in the morning so it doesn’t get too hot (these plants don’t like it too hot). On really cold nights I also add a layer of thick plastic over the top. The fabric is quite strong and has withstood the daily on/off ritual easily.
