**Q: Are the figures the 2014 version? Do they not look like the ones in the photo?**
A: Definitely the set from 2014.  It appears to be much better quality and detail than the new set.  These are getting increasingly more difficult to find which is sad .

A: They are made of hard plastic, they won't break and they are big enough that they are safe for little ones.
