You would get much better results with a microwave oven or the stove top. **Q: I own one and one of the lower heating rods has warped upwards and the outer "casing" has even broken through. Has anyone else had this problem?** A: I don't know how long we own ours, but it feels like a long time (years) and we're having the same problem with the heating rod & outer casing. It looks like it's going to catch on fire any minute. Also. it has become increasingly difficult to open the crumb catcher drawer that's supposed to pull open. Judy K. answered on July 12, 2017 **Q: How fast does it toast?** A: For toast I let this toaster oven preheat for a minute on the toast setting. I then toast on one side for a minute and turn the toast over and give it another 1 to 1/2 minutes depending on the characteristics of the bread. The result to me is perfect. Far better results than in any of the toasters I've used and that includes the expensive Breville's. **Q: Can you fit an 8"x8" pan into the oven?** A: You should be able to.
