It didn't flow. The authors often repeated themselves. They also spent an inordinate amount of time talking about how much power the Comyns had and how the Bruces wanted power. Their lack of knowledge of the proper use of commas made the narrative incomprehensible at times. The photos didn't necessarily follow the narrative, which contributed to the disjointed feel.I expected a chronology of events with photos to match (even if it was just a photo with a caption that read, Research suggests that Wallace did such-and-such here, or Blind Harry's poem stated that Wallace spent time in that place there.This is entirely subjective, but I found the authors' use of quotes from existing tales to be excessive to the point of annoying. It is okay to paraphrase, especially when the bit of information being passed on is not paramount to getting a point across.(I also found the black and white photos off-putting. They added nothing to the narrative [this is not an art book; it is a history book].) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what my husband wanted *by D***M on Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2019* Last year we went to Ireland and Scotland and hard all about William Wallace. My husband is a HUGE Braveheart fan and he was in his glory while there. We searched around both countries for the perfect William Wallace book and found none. Luckily I found this through a used book store somewhere in the UK. It was in great condition and offers the entire story of his life as well as fantastic photos.
