The bulbs that came with the light are really dim.** A: I use 40 watt or 350 lumens dimmable led lights available at Home Depot **Q: Why can’t a variable speed (dimmer) wall control be used? I’d rather not use the remote.** A: As I discuss in my review, a wired variable speed wall switch CAN be used if your room is already prewired for a ceiling fan. To do so simply don’t install the wireless remote module and connect the fan wires to the proper wires in the ceiling box. **Q: Do you have to hang it using a rod** A: Mounted mine without the rod for most clearance. No issues.
