These are "heavier" than my old Winter Silks (a company that went out of business some years ago), but they seem like they will be just as serviceable. They'll go with me to Iceland soon so that will tell the tale but I expect to be quite satisfied with them. As to complaints I've read about how they fit in the hips I'd say they are just roomy enough to be comfortable. These are underwear so no one is going to see them and they are the layer one wears next to the skin so no one will be the wiser if they don't fit skin-tight.
