I put mine in the bathroom (of all places), to step onto in the middle of the night to use the commode. So, it's in a place that feels great on bare feet, but not near any water, and even though I will have to have it professionally cleaned at some expense - it's still worth it to keep this rug where it is. And, I'll be getting a second one to put by my bedside! The one I got - in white - is pure pristine white. Looks like a cloud. Feels like stepping onto a soft cozy warm cloud. I am very impressed with this. Beautiful ivory color, very clean, no smell. I have it draped on my upholstered chair. When the room gets a bit chilly I throw it over my legs while I read.
