It would prevent the signal from being received, but moving the receiver near a window solved that issue. I believe the range is around 600ft and there is a house in between the transmitter and receiver.This is well built and waterproof. Easy to adjust and easy to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Customer Service *by G***E on December 15, 2018* Bought the Guardline driveway alarm in August. Hooked up easily and worked like a charm. After about 4 months decided to add an additional receiver. Couldn’t pair it and called customer service who immediately told me to return it and order another one. I did and when the second receiver wouldn’t pair, thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Contacted customer service once again, this time sending a detailed email of steps I had taken to try to pair it. Within 30 minutes I had a response and a solution. I had ordered the wrong receiver for my 1/4 mile alarm. Returned it, received the correct receiver and had it up and running in about 30 seconds. I live at the end of a long driveway and love the advance notice of someone driving into my house, especially when I am alone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Purchased as an ADD-ON. *by S***A on May 1, 2017* We bought this as an add on to use when we're out by the pool. When it's INSIDE the pool house area plugged in, it works great, but when we unplug it and try it only two feet away, outside on the wall, it doesn't seem to work?? I'm sure there's a resolution, just have to figure it out. We can bring the receiver from INSIDE our home outside and it works just fine from the exact same spot, so I know it's not because of interference or our choice of where we're placing the receiver. It's brand new with brand new batteries, so more trouble shooting I suppose.
