Sharp, bright but not distracting while sleeping. Perfect.USB charger...works. New iPhone is fully charged in the AM as it should be.The auto dimmer for night is very nice. During the day the display on the unit is sharp and bright so no issues seeing the clock with the window shutters open. When the sun goes down the display dims just enough that you can see the time but there is no excessive glare. (Middle and original clock you can set the brightness but there was no auto adjust.FM radio stations auto program and auto memory position. Not needed but still nicer than pressing the pudding out of the up button on the 'middle' unit until I got to the one FM station I listen to on free radio.Overall it's a nice design...but the functions not only work but are thoughtful.
