It seems like many of the Omega-3 supplements for kids are either "chewable" gel caps (not really sure how that works, but I read a number of mixed reviews) or, if they were gummies, they didn't have as high a dose of omega 3s as I would have liked. These are on the more expensive side, but I like that the first ingredient listed is actual fish oil. They do contain gelatin, but do not contain any artificial coloring (color is from paprika extract). Of the ones that I found, the dosage PER GUMMY of the Nordic Naturals are comparable to (but better than): Dr. Sears Go Fish Brainy Kidz Omega-3 DHA soft chews (100mg DHA), price roughly $.60/count Rainbow Light's Gummy Omegalicious (108mg DHA, 22mg EPA), price roughly $.12/count Nordic Naturals Omega-3 jellies have 100mg of DHA, 150mg of EPA and 50mg of other Omega-3s and cost roughly $.59/count. I gave my 4-year-old son two today. He thought they were "cool" because they were shaped like fish and bright orange.** I tried two as well and, to me, the flavor is rather innocuous. They smell slightly fruity and taste slightly the same - not super-sweet or tart like candy, but I would not expect that, it's fish oil in disguise. I did not smell any fishy smell or taste any fishy flavor, nor did my son. As another reviewer indicated, each jellie comes in its own little blister pouch (for freshness, I would imagine) and they are slightly slippery to the touch (presumably from the fish oil). I may continue to look periodically to see what else is out there, but these fit the bill for us for now. I would definitely give this product a try. **For a while we did have him on a "lemon" flavored Carlson fish oil supplement (which was fantastic and packs a punch with Omega 3s.
