More often with Enterprise Drives you have the quality to last you past 5 years of use. Shipping is also very important to make sure there is no damage to your drives, hence we use suspended HDD boxes custom made for these drives do avoid failure and intern warranty claims. **Q: What is the date of manufacture?** A: The drives I purchased were manufactured about a month before I received them. I believe these drives are still manufactured in the same factories which belonged to Hitachi before they were bought out by WD. But I don't know whether the particular drive you are looking at was on stock at Amazon or the supplier for longer than that. However, I would suggest you don't need to worry about the manufacturing date, as the warranty will start on purchase date. Let me tell you, these are the best and most reliable drives you can buy.
