I've been using this RO membrane in the same unit for 5 years now. I take regular TDS readings and look for a spike in my readings as an indication to change, and I've seen no spike, but have opted to changed anyways as the one in my RO was 3 years old. This has a very long service life in normal residential use. All of our drinking and cooking water goes through this and it's better than any bottled stuff you can buy. In addition to our drinking and cooking water, in the winter months, all of my humidifier water comes from my RO unit. This is approximately 15 gallons a day for 5 months. The only time I clean my dehumidifier is when I put it away for the season.
