The standard cartilage piercing is 16G (bigger holes than these). The standard lobe piercings are 18-22G. So these may be a bit tight to get in, but your holes can stretch over time - just depends on if you want to deal with a little discomfort if your holes are currently smaller. **Q: are these truly 18g? some of the reviews have me concerned that they could be 16g and i have no interest in stretching my piercings.** A: My first holes are 16g these are smaller so definitely 18g. Remember that most post earrings are 20 or 22g. My 2nd hole isn't stretched and I didn't have much problem putting these in. It may stretch your holes a little but not enough to be noticeable.
