Took no more than about 10-15 minutes. **Q: can you plant cantaloupes on this?** A: I wouldn't....they may be a little too heavy for it....in time the weight of the cantaloupes, plus the elements, will probably cause it to start to bend....I have a passion flower vine on it and it holds well...but a heavier vine type such as what you intend may not be the best way...the tubing is only 1/2" ...maybe a 1"x1" would work better. You have to tighten the screws again after you stick the ends in the ground, but all the screws and parts fit together perfectly. it may be easier to asseble with two people.
