I think the scent is gross (it smells medicinal and botanical to me, but in a bad way) and I was surprised by how thin the lotion was. I was duped into thinking this would be a L'Occitane-style thick cream. It's not. All that being said, I gave it five stars. Why? Simple. This is the best performing hand lotion I have found as measured by my two primary criteria: (1) does it fix my skin issues and (2) does it sink in quickly? I get horrible dryness on my hands in winter--dry enough to have cracked skin on my knuckles and fingertips-- and darned if this stuff doesn't fix many of those issues after just a few applications. Moreover, I work at a computer all day and I hate lotions that take forever to sink in. I end up making my mouse and keyboard disgustingly greasy. This lotion, however, sinks in quickly. And while I hate the smell, it goes away before too long.
