**Q: Is it waterproof?  Can you place it on a hardwood floor and does the rug capture the water, but not seep through to the floor?**
A: These mats have a polypropylene surface, which looks and feels like a carpet material but is more stain-, fade- and mildew-resistant and dries quicker than a typical wool, nylon or cotton.  Also, the vinyl backing will not allow any moisture to drip through the mat to the floor below.

**Q: Can I use this mat on the outside of my patio door?**
A: Yes, you can use them outdoors though it's best to try to keep them under an awning or overhang because if it rains a lot directly on the mat it will need to air dry before it can be fully functional again.

**Q: Does this have a rubber backing that could potentially discolor luxury vinyl planks?**
A: Yes, this rug has a nice heavy rubber backing. It will block light from getting through to your floor. I would suggest calling the manufacturer of your flooring and ask if the sun will bleach it over time. I can assure you that the floor will not discolor from the rubber itself.

**Q: what is the lifespan?**
A: We've been using this mat in our office since purchased and it still looks new.  The mat wears very well and is very easy to clean, but I really can't answer the lifespan since we've only had the mat for about a year and seems to have many years left.

This carpet remains where put, has stood up to the abuse of three dogs and several persons daily walking on it. Plus it looks good. Well constructed, holds its color and fits perfectly. It is able to be vacuumed easily. Definitely worth it's price. I would highly recommend it.
