It seems to be made from decent acrylic. It’s super clear and appears to be laser cut.it is well designed and assembled. The sliding lid really snaps into place. I would have still preferred to have seen a vertical hole in one end or the other so that a small dowel or peg could have secured the lid from being forced open, but there’s little chance of my juvenile tarantula opening this enclosure. The acrylic looks to be thick enough not to warp easily. Time will tell if it turns yellow, but I don’t get the feeling that will happen. I wouldn’t set anything on the enclosure lid, but it shouldn’t sag or warp under normal conditions. I would use caution if you use heat for your enclosures. This may not be the one to heat up too much. Overall I am very happy with this enclosure. They Have a wide selection **Q: Can you use heat lamps on this set up???** A: I have not needed to use heat lamps as the boxed habitats we have are stacked 2 up along dresser tops in our house. The boxes have good ventilation with ours at room temp. I think, heat lamps can be hotter than necessary in most conditions in a home for any animal. if your room is cols you might try using a tall desk lamp. **Q: Are these good enclosures for isopods?** A: Yes I think they certainly would work for isopods. If you are making a habitat, make a cardboard box reassembling the size you want or you will end up with 10 boxes stacked all around the room :-) I speak from experience : ) If you really enjoy the little creatures you might get two boxes so you can make their bedding ahead of each time you wish to clean them. The isopods make good pets... have fun ! **Q: Is this a good enclosure for isopods?** A: I personally use these for young tarantulas, however depending on the size of isopod could escape though the holes. Clear and scratch-free, but also very sturdy. Solid magnet lock on top that I trust won't slide open by accident. Holes may be a little big for a teensy teensy sling, but good for older ones.
