I tried the smaller, infant type first - no go. I coud get them in a nostril easy, but little to no suck. Indy is still leery of these being put in a nostril, however even just using them on the side sucks out a lot of mucous. They discharge easily too, and are not hard for my sore ands to squeeze. My guess is they'd work even better on cooperative toddlers. I love that they came in a two-pack also, as Indy maaged to hide one with 30 minutes of opening them (I did find it later). I'm hoping that one day we won't need them but, until that day, this is the brand I'll use.Update: just wanted to add that my Saint will not let me suction his nose and this works fabulous for him.
