It is a good size for everything - shoulder-mounted, handheld, on legs, etc.Unlike some reviews online say, you CAN turn off the auto-dimming feature, so to control the screen brightness manually, so that's good.Although there is no mounting hole on the left, you can flip the screen, so that's good.I personally haven't bothered with any of the additional features like focus assist or false colour, as I trust the Blackmagic ones the most, so I cannot comment on them. I really just wanted a bright monitor that I could use outdoors, and this seems like it will work well.There are a few annoyances, some of which I hope Desview can sort out with a software upgrade:-1. The pinch to zoom is not well done. You pinch to zoom okay (although it is slow and jerky, not like a smartphone, for example), but unless you keep moving the screen every second or two, the interface disappears and the next time you touch it it goes to settings. You have to pinch-to-zoom again to be able to move the screen around. Instead, it should keep scrolling and panning around the zoomed-in view whenever you touch the screen when it's zoomed-in, perhaps with a double-tap on one side giving you the menu.2. Again on the pinch to zoom. - Once you let go of pinching, it always brings up the settings menu. It is really annoying. Imagine scrolling around a zommed-in image, then every time you let go, the menu pops up. I really hope they can patch this. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but it is pretty annoying.3. The menu is fine, but could be better. It would be good to be able to set your own shortcuts. Settings say "Close" instead of "Off". A minor annoyance, but throws you at first. One really annoying thing is the settings slider for things like colour. On most touch devices, once you interact with the slider, it will not lose focus on the slider unless you physically remove your finger from the screen. With this, if you move your finger off the slider, it will interact with the next one. This makes things difficult if you are, say, changing the Blue slider, but slightly move your finger over the Red slider - it will start changing Red. This makes this difficult, because you can't really see the values when moving the sliders. So the best approach is to keep tapping on the slider and hoping you get the right number. It would be much better if Desview made it so that, when you interact with a slider, it will not lose focus on that slider until you remove your finger from the screen.4. The same thing that seems to be the case with all these kinds of monitors - it draws power even when it's off. I really don't understand this at all. There is no LED light. There is seemingly no reason for this to happen. But if you leave a battery on there, it will drain. I don't know why it's so difficult for companies to put a physical power switch on, or have no battery draw when the monitor is not on. Unfortunately, I doubt this can be fixed with software.5. Although there is a fan speed setting (Off, Low, Medium, High), there is no way to put it on "Auto", like the manual suggests. I leave mine on Low because Medium and up is LOUD, but I don't know if that is enough to stop it overheating. I would like there be an Auto setting for the fan in addition to Off, Low, Medium and High, so I knew it was cooling itself down properly.All-in-all, a pretty decent monitor with some non-dealbreaker annoyances that can hopefully be patched. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good Monitor but you will need accessories! *by M***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2022* I have used this in the field a number of times now so will give pros and cons.Pros -Features - this camera has everything you need in terms of features, false colour, focus peaking, on screen histogram, Luts.Weight - Well weighted and not too heavy.Good image - you get a good overall image that you can see in any level of daylight.Cons -No Battery - you will need to buy NPF batteries seperately.The mounting arm - very weak and cheap and will constantly be falling or coming loose no matter how you tighten it. I have had to purchase a small Rig one seperately.HDMI - if you are planning HDMI to HDMI remember to buy a cable one isnt included.Input lag - I believe this is my camera specific but if you are a GH5 user you will get about 5 to 10 frames input lag so your monitor will be slogging behind.Edit: after being contacted by customer service I have updated my review to four stars. I managed to fix the lag it was a camera issue not the monitor.I ended up purchasing a smallrig mounting arm which works great with this monitor.Please note it clearly states what cables come with the monitor and that the battery isn't included I added my review as a warning ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Nice monitor but the battery connection pins are poor quality *by R***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 January 2023* After only about 10 uses the Sony NPF battery pins have broken off. It looks like a design flaw as the pins are mounted too close to the back case of the monitor leaving almost no space to get the battery onto them. After a few go's of changing the battery with difficulty, the stress on the pins has snapped one of them off rendering the monitor useless.So although its a good screen, I could not recommend buying it.
