I just dont kow it can make pool light change color.** A: The special light bulb is what changes color and it can do that on it's own without this switch. To change colors or color 'scenes' (the rotating color shows) you simply turn the power on/off to the light rapidly. So, to signal the light bulb to show color 3 (whatever that may be)... turn switch on/off 3 times and back to on. Tada! Color 3 occurs on the light. Problem is that the light has a lot of colors and shows it can do... forget how many, but let's say you want color scene 10... you have to count and rapidly flick the power switch on/off 10 times and then on that last time and it will pause for a moment (darkness) and then after a second or two the light will come on in scene 10 mode. Unless you counted wrong and then you'll get mode 9 or 11. That's where this OBSCENELY expensive switch comes in... it does the rapid on/off for you. Just select the scene you want with the dial and push the button. No more flicking the light switch on/off. Be careful wiring this up though... get it wrong and you fry the $200 switch. I bought one used on eBay and then didn't install it for almost 2 years (was busy helping someone with cancer for a long stretch)... and when I finally got around to installing the switch it didn't work. I took it apart and found a component marked F1 (Fuse probably) had burned up. I might have hooked it up incorrectly but it might have been sold to me that way (I bought it used) by the eBay seller. I'll never know for sure. I can tell you that there's a sticker on the red wire of the switch which says to make sure you hook it up to the load (light) line only... which is black. SO... you're supposed to hook red to black which was backward from how my mechanical switch had been wired. Why they would make a switch that could get fried by hooking that up is beyond me. I'm an EE and that's not how we were taught to design things in school. Terrible design in that regard.. and based on the cost... terrible product overall. Unless you're floating in money, just live with the flipping of the light switch on/off to get the desired program. Besides, if you turn the light off and turn it back on the next day it comes on in the last program mode you used... so if you have a favorite you usually leave it in.. no big deal. **Q: My packaged arrived dirty and not looking new. is this how it is supposed to be or did i get a used controller?** A: Mine was clean-new package. **Q: Puedo colocar un controlador para tres luces ? Be aware that it requires a full time power source (just like WiFi controlled switches), and won’t work with just a single wire leg interrupted configuration. Great performance with the pentair intellibrite lamps. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Only way to go if you have multiple lights and you want them to run different light shows *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on 21 June 2014* I agree with the others this thing is expensive for what it does.I have a large wall LED light in the deep end and a smaller LED light in the shallow end of the pool. additionally I have for Pentair laminars. I bought one control for the big LED so I would have the "lightshow" patterns and wanted to control the other 5 lights using the standard toggle switches to change colors. That worked as designed but eventually proved to be too annoying (flipping 5 switches on and off) so I wanted to combine all the lights on one Intelibrite controller. That too was a problem as the laminars were 12 vAC and my large LED was 120 vAC. I could not figure a way for one controller to control the 120 light and go through the 300 watt transformer for the 12 vAC lights. That required me to buy a second controller at this crazy price but it is what I wanted to do and it sure beats flipping the switches. The way I see it if you are looking at this you are buying it because you already own a premium lighting device so don’t whine about the premium price for the accessories – at least that is what I keep telling myself.  ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Makes programming the IntelliBrite LED light easy. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on 17 April 2017* I've had this control for about a year and it has been excellent. I thought about trying to go without it and control my light manually by turning the switch on and off. If you are standing near the transformer you can hear the transformer thumping at a very fast rate. I cant imagine being able to do this manually. Some of the program settings take many on/off changes to set. I did enclose the box in a cover to keep the sun and the rain off of it but I live in Florida and nothing survives without some protection.
