We bought a standard Dropcam, which has been great, for use as a baby monitor. When we had another kid we decided to get another camera and saw this upgraded, refurbished, unit at the same price we paid for the other. I've had good luck with refurbished electronics (including this one) so I didn't hesitate. I LOVE how much wider of an angle this gives over the standard, and the picture quality is better too.They both allow you to have conversations through them, but they work like a walkie talkie where you can't both talk at once which is kind of annoying. Mostly we just use it to listen though so no big deal.If you can have the volume on with your devices screen turned off I haven't figured out how so we got a cheap baby monitor for the sound.
