For example, the little holes are partially blocked to prevent kids from getting fingers stuck in there, and the top bit opens up on a hinge so that you can (kind of) clean inside, or get out any toys your child manages to stuff into the 'mouth'. If you drive it through the water fast, the propeller spins. It's simple enough for a baby but open-ended and cool enough to become a fun pool toy as kids get bigger, since it can either float on the surface when empty or sink/dive if you push it down so it fills with water. This has gotten the most play out of any of our bath toys, and seems to resist growing mildew and getting slimy and gross. It drains and dies well without trapping bathwater inside. It looks good as new after a good long time of basically daily water play, and I can see it lasting through multiple kids without a hitch. Very well made and sturdy. I think the Green Toys line overall is very good, but this is my favorite out of the series.

A: No. You can spin the propeller with your finger but this toy has no batteries. My son loves this toy and takes it in the bathtub all the time.

**Q: When my kid grows out of it, can I recycle the toy instead of throwing it out?**

**Q: Hello! Need help. When people say they are “opening” the submarine to air dry and you saying the top hatch or submarine becomes two pieces? How?**
A: When the blue hatch is pulled up in front, the hatch comes up to show an opening to the inside of the ship. The back piece of the handle stays attached. Then to close it you snap the front down again. Fun!

**Q: Does it have blocked holes or not?  I don't want one with blocked holes!**
A: The holes aren’t blocked on my kids submarine. It will spill water if you lift it out of the tub after being submerged.

My son was gifted this toy, and he loves this little bathtub sub so much that I ordered one for a friend. It's really a nicely made toy, with good attention to detail. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Toys!

These Green Toys are absolutely the best, hands down! What's not to love? The minute you recieve one you relize the substantial and durable quality of them. They are easy to clean and I literally can not fathom any saftey hazards whatsoever with these toys (other than if the are used as a projectile, but that is the case with most toys that are not fabric, so obviously if there is a baby in the bunch with some older toddlers or so, you should still have your eyes on the kids). I love that they are all dishwasher safe for sterilizing. We have decided to keep all the Green Toys in a toy box in our main livingroom for 2 reasons. When we have company with children or playmates visiting, they can all just dive into these toys and we don't have the aggravation of my grandson's other toys being dragged out with multiple pieces, and those are not all small child safe, and we can not just throw them in the dishwasher afterwards as we can these. These are literally worry free toys when children are visiting (other than the aforementioned throwing, or maybe banging over the head, so yes you still must parent as we should be anyway). Second, after dinner, when there is just a small window of time for bath and playtime before bed, these are hassle free and the only toys we let him drag out because they are simple and easy pickup. BONUS, they are MADE IN THE USA, and of completely recycled materials. I have not seen that many quality toys like these other than ones made in the 1940's or so, where good craftsmanship (as these are) mattered, even in a toy. We have at least 2 dozen of these toys and they have become an awesome gift item especially when they go on sale, which is often. They are literally the PERFECT toys!
