Review: Has a high quality look - Order was deliverd sooner than expected. The packaging was not that great the box was damaged but the product was fine. The whole unit is a lot lighter than the 30 year old roaster this one is replacing but seems be of a better quality of others in the box top stores. The two thing I miss on the new roaster is no light to tell me the roaster is heating and the arrow on the temperature select is really hard to see. So I got wife's finger nail polish and painted the arrow pink so it's easily visible. If this thing lasts half as long as my old roaster I'll be happy. So it works great for now. I just don't know for how long?
Review: Great for first time turkey cooks and to save the oven for other dishes! - This was my first year making the turkey and overall it went great using this roaster. With a larger turkey it can take some finagling (will do better tying of the legs next time) to prevent parts from touching the side as it cooks and opens up. Worked great right on the counter top, definitely cooks turkey faster than expected so shave maybe 20-30% of the time you would typically cook. I was worried it wouldn't create a nice crispy skin but it does! Great purchase overall, worth the price.

**Q: What are the interior dimensions of the pan?  I need it for a long leg of lamb, but cant find the pan dimensions to know if the leg will fit**
A: It’s a pain that companies don’t include inner dimensions, but it’s nice you can ask her. So, here’s the inner dimensions for the 28qt size. 17.25 in. wide X 11.625 in. deep (front to back) X 6.75 in. high. Add an additional 3.5 in. for lid.  Again that’s 17.25 X 11.625 X 10.25 with lid.

**Q: Whats the difference in this and a crockpot**
A: First about Crock Pot temperature: According to the FAQ on the Crock Pot company web site, the high and low settings are set for the same temperature. The difference is how quickly they get to that temperature. The roaster's operating temperature is set by the user. A slow cooker draws 70 - 250 watts. The roaster draws ca. 1440 watts. A slow cooker uses a ceramic insert (a crock) which has a relatively high thermal mass to help keep the temperature constant - slow to heat up and slow to cool down. The roaster uses a less dense steel insert. The roaster can get much hotter than the slow cooker. Slow cookers seldom need to get above 212F since water normally boils at that temperature; and, water under normal pressure cannot exceed 212F, the slow cooker's temperature is limited. Since many slow cooker recipes call for simmering in a water based liquid as a cooking medium the temperature is limited to the boiling temperature of the liquid. Roasting by definition is a dry process and physically does not limit the cooking temperature. If the roaster does not overshoot or undershoot the temperature setting too much, it could be used as a slow cooker. If the temperature is not stable enough the results may not be as expected.

**Q: How long would you cook at 20-28 pound turkey and at what temperature?**
A: I have never cooked a turkey this big in my roaster. I have roasted 16-18lb turkeys .I would follow the same instruction for conventional oven roasting. If there are no instructions with your turkey, google the weight and look for conventional oven instructions and follow them.
