SuperMoss Mountain Moss is a green sphagnum moss found at the crests of mountains. It is an excellent soil conditioner in that it helps plants retain moisture and from being over-watered. Mountain Moss also adds natural organic matter to soils that promotes the activity of healthy microorganisms. Mountain Moss helps plants grow healthier by allowing the roots to access more oxygen, which is crucial in their uptake of essential micro and macronutrients. **Q: Is it good for venus flytraps and nepenthes?**
A: Yes, except that this brand was very dirty, with a strong moldy smell. You may want to look for a better quality. I was disappointed in this one.

**Q: Is this a good type of moss to use for making moss poles?**
A: I have never made a moss pole but i think the moss strips would be long enough to wrap and tie down. I looked up DIY moss poles though and they recommended sheets of moss. Hope this helps

**Q: Can this be used as a soil cover around tropical potted plants outside?**
A: Yes, it can be used that way.  I use it to bind my orchids to bark and hold moisture.  There is no issue using it as a top dressing for plants.  Just know that you will need to soak it well at first to get it all moist before putting it around your plants.  Do this outside so that it will eliminate the dust upon opening the dried moss in the house.

**Q: Is it good for Venus Flytraps and nepenthes?**
A: I had some Venus Fly Traps in sphagnum moss and they were doing okay until Hurricane Irma hit us. Years ago I had various nepenthes in s. moss and they did very well. I find just about all plants do well in the s.moss.
