Our dog can get her head into the opening but cannot turn it to get to the litter. We have had it for about a week and she no longer tries. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy. It looks like a piece of furniture and can hold things on top. The cat gets in to the litter box through the small opening on the inside. It is easy to access the litter pan for cleaning through the double doors in the front. The litter kicked up by the cat remains inside and does not scatter onto the floor. Because it keeps things contained, out of sight, is attractive and easy to use I would recommend this for anyone who has a cat, even if they do not need to keep another pet out of the litter.
