Bought this for an old but very comfortable high back rocker that allows for the legs rest to extend. But wanted the ability to swivel in the family room to watch TV but also swivel to talk to someone sitting on the couch. Works great. Every rocker is different. I had to add two short 2x4's to the frame in order to attach the swivel securely. Worked perfect. Only raised the rocker about 1 1/2 inches. So depending on the fabric of your rocker you may see the black swivel base when seated on a couch at a distance. For me it wasn't a problem.
