I am using them now, and they hurt.** A: Yes, they are smaller. If you look at the base (you can see it in the pictures of the product on Amazon), you will see a four-pronged opening that has a hole that penetrates into the center of the plug. This hollow helps the foam compress better when you roll it in your fingers before fitting into your ear. So it is smaller and thinner than the other size and easier to insert. I have tried the extra-soft Mack’s brand, plus two other storebrands. This is the only earplug that doesn’t hurt when I use it. It doesn’t cut the sound 100% for me, maybe close to 90%, but more than enough to get good sleep. **Q: Which are smaller "slim fit" or "dreamgirl" as i need the smallest. thanks** A: They are quite similar in size. The tip of the Dreamgirl is a bit pointier than the Slim Fit and the base of the Dreamgirl is flared a bit wider than the Slim Fit base. I know that doesn't help that much.
