I really like that the geometry of the body, head, and throwing handle teaches the pup how to pick up a bird. We mostly train with bumpers, and our golden pup picks them up a lot of different ways (like a cigar, for one) and tends to play around with the throwing line on the retrieve. She only comfortably picks these dummies up by the body. These are well balanced and easy to throw!

We have used it heavily in training the Lab pup. The balance of the dummy mimics a live duck. It throws well into the water. After 2 months of use it still floats but the rope slipped and had to be glued. It is possible with such heavy use it was not possible to hold up. I still think for the price the training dummy was worth every penny. I have ordered a new one. Our Lab loves it.
