First off...the laser cut pieces fit great and have incredible detail. The instructions are pictorial and if you carefully follow them it went together without issues...though the pieces do fit tightly so some care is required. I had initially believed that this was a fully functional clock and that the day and date wheels were working with the clock....this proved to be incorrect and I now feel a little sheepish to have believed that in the first place. Would have been a LOT of things to be powered by the action...which is just a little quartz battery (AA) clock. Not disappointed in the final product at all as it's really neat...just wanted to be sure that someone else doesn't get this thinking that everything you see actually works automatically. The day and date wheels can be turned (if you assembled them correctly) to whatever date you wish and I chose to set them to the birthday of the recipient of this as a gift. Amazing what they did with the lasers and the complicated fit is beautiful.
