## Description

Furniture Clinic Leather Repair Paint & Dye | Self Seal Colourant for Quick and Easy Leather Repair | Suitable for Sofas, Car Seat, Shoes, Handbag, and More (Black, 50ml) : desertcart.co.uk: Fashion

Review: Should have bought this years ago.... - I've had 3 cars now that have had black leather, I wish I'd bought this years ago. Why didn't I? Because I'm a total cheapskate, that's why. I was recommended this aaaaages ago by one of my bosses. Seeing it was reduced for Black Friday, I decided to finally(!) bite the bullet. For the sake of an extra fiver, it made far more economical sense to buy the 250ml rather than the 50ml (as it's tiny) and I was unsure how much I'd need for my 2 seater, plus door cards, dash trim, gaiter, knob, steering wheel, and centre console. An in-betweeny size would've been handy: as it transpires, I wasted a fiver on the bigger one, as I literally only used about 3ml, decanted into a metal jigger and applied with a small paint brush. For my situation, I was supposed to use an alcohol cleaner prior to application - I just used an anti-bac wipe. I wore latex gloves, but it does seem to wash off fairly easily. Unusually, the bottle is filled very full, so represents good VFM. Application is very therapeutic and satisfying, almost addictive - I've also had annoying white marks on one of my rear speakers since I bought the car, tried everything to clean it off - just used a dot of this to cover it over - gone - hurrah! I'll be digging out every black leather good in my house to make sure I get the most out of this. My leather wasn't particularly bad on a 2015 Z4 but with low mileage, just needed a few touch-ups: most of one of the bolsters, where the belt buckle on my trench coats have scratched the driver's side getting in and out, as well as a couple of nail scratches (I'm a girl!). As I attempted this on a freezing cold day and just wanted to crack on and get back indoors, stupid me forgot to take before photos, but I can confirm, the seats look almost like new, lovely and black, albeit rather patchy, due to the nature of a touch up - the finish is more matte than the leather (hence they stand out) but may buff up or with a leather cream, when I feel inclined. Even though it was very cold outside, drying with a hairdryer probably wasn't required for me, personally, since I was only giving a very fine coat, but I did leave the car to dry afternoon and overnight before using. It apparently cures properly over a week, so I was nervous about sitting on it this morning, but my coat doesn't appear to have any black spots on it! Obviously I can't attest as to the longevity of this yet, but I can imagine the bolster and where the seat belts rub will be the first to go. Since I have so much left over, even though it doesn't need it, I think I may as well give the whole lot a second coat in the Spring to blend in the touch-ups, as unfortunately, this apparently expires a year after opening, which is particularly annoying given my expenditure, as I would only ever buy a car, if, indeed it has leather, which is black, so this could have otherwise lasted me for years to come. Had I realised this, I would definitely have gone for the 50ml, but as I say, at least I now have more than enough to re-coat the whole lot and more....looks like my colleagues and family will be getting offered a dribble!
Review: Excellent Quality Leather Dye - I got this Leather Repair Paint to change the colour of our 2 x Leather Sofas. The original colour was a Dark Brown/Green Tint and I bought the Dark Grey Paint which really surprised me how good it now looks, no streaks and scuffs are totally gone. The colour with one coat turned out as a Medium Dark Grey/Blue colour which we are very happy with the result and is better than I expected. The paint is very easy to apply with a large sponge, but make sure you use plastic gloves and have a cloth as it marks anything it touches. Paint fully dries in approx 4-6hrs without using a hairdryer I used up all of the 500ml bottle on the two 2 large double seater sofas with one coat, if you want it darker you will need 2nd coat with 2 x 500ml bottles. I have now bought a second bottle in case of any future marks or changes needing repaired. Make sure you do the water test, this paint is designed to be used with Non-Porous leather (drop of water bubbles & stays on leather) I will probably get the job of recolouring my Wifes old handbags now 😂 Basically very happy with this product, saved me buying a new suite.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I buff it up a little as it’s a bit dull compared to my sofa**
A: Hi, you can use our Leather Finish to make the surface shinier. You can choose between a gloss, satin or matt.

**Q: will it do for cat scratches?**
A: Hi i have literally just tried it about half hour ago - my problem is my couch is flaking its leather off - only just tried one coat - its better than was ? but can still see flaky bits so you may still see cat scratches ? but as I say I have only done one coat of it - its just like a dye to be honest

**Q: Colour stain has rubbed off cushion of my sofa. It is walnut colour, would dark brown be ok. How long does colour last and is it easy to use?**
A: I should think that colour will be fine,,,, l coloured a lite tan leather pouffe burgudy with four coats,,,,, it's come beautiful and even,,,,, l recommend applying with a small sponge and apply using even strokes a section at a time,,, dont go over wat you've just done as will streak,,,,, first layer leave for 20mins,,,,, if you want darker then reapply again leaving 20mins,,, till u get desired colour,,,,,,, my colours lasting fine l will just retouch if l need to,,, great product l highly recommend it

**Q: Is it suitable to use on faux leather**
A: I believe that it is effective on faux leather, I must say that it is a great product which is easy to apply, and gives a great result.
The only issue is identifying the actual colour required

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The mixture needed for Himolla cream.
*by A***A on 26 October 2025*

I have a Himolla Cheshire chair that is a Himolla cream colour. The furniture clinic cream was far too yellow, the Himolla cream is more white. I managed to get very close by mixing 28ml of white with 7 ml of cream and 8 drops of black. After cleaning, degreasing etc the leather, I sprayed the mixed paint onto the leather, once it dryed it was almost an exact match. Just got to put the satin finishing cream on (once dry). More than happy with the quality of the paint and it aheaded to the leather well.
