This is for the 8 lb. 16 inch hammer. It's basically a one handed 8 pound sledge, I have used it so far for shaping and forging steel. With this much weight it easily does the job, feels very sturdy. I was previously using a 4 pound one hander, this 8 pounder does tire you out pretty quick (well duh) but it does git er dun. I could probably use the exercise anyways and it means I don't spend too much time forging.
