The instructions explain how to split the blade and properly insert it into the razor. Once you've got that figured out, it's a breeze. The first time or two - I nicked myself after getting a little too confident but now I've got it down. It's the smoothest and most enjoyable shave you can get and it's actually calming vs bothersome. The overall quality is great. The razor feels sturdy, not cheap and it's showing no signs of wear.
