In a regular table top bonnet I spend 2 hours and 15 mins to dry completely. In the Kwik I spend ONE HOUR, that is drastic time difference, and it has to do with the design of the dryer. Also your technique in doing your rollers, always make sure your ends are combed out and spread out onto the roller (sort of like stuck to the roller)- the ends are the most important technique of roller setting your hair. I finish up with ironing all other areas that are not completely straight afterwards but without ironing to the ends. I have used the table top Bonnet for 20+ years, its uncomfortable because you always have to strategically place it you are always stiff because you can't move when you have huge rollers in, (I use the Purple and Black Ones- I think its standard colors per sizes).Also part each roller with about the same amount of hair especially the middle/back of your head. I regret not investing in Kwik sooner. Oh Also I don't set the heat higher than 60 on the marker, and set to one hour and i am done my hair is thick, retains water, really curly down to my waist. I have pictures as a two year old with rollers in my hair. For the last couple years I have been struggling with my table-top dryer. When I found this I read all of the wonderful reviews and made the purchase. Considering this should last at least 5 years, the price is completely reasonable; not to mention avoiding the hassle of going to a salon or pulling out rollers only to find that your hair is still damp. This dryer gets very hot or it can stay cool.I wear huge rollers that still fit under this hood. I have to wiggle a bit, but the flip top visor opens easily, I slide in and close the top. Yes the air is blowing from the top and circulates all the way to the nape. It's awesome. I can even lay my head back and take a nap. My hair is dry after 70 minutes and that used to be 2 hours. It is so smart because the knobs are at the top so while I am under the dryer I can adjust the heat. There is no buzzer, it just shuts off when the time is up.
