Not just any salt, these are the popular ones you have heard about from the Himalayas. The cord is a nice safe looking design and a small built in dimmer.I got this as a night light for my young one, and its something talked about all the time at night with a smile. I don't know what salt rocks do when heated, but maybe there is some magnetism of the field gain that would help healing or sleeping?
