For the price of this speaker, it works very wellUpdate. 3 weeks in and the opticalmport is already broken. Customer service is basically nonexistent. Just contacted amazon and I'm returning and going to give it a try once more because I did like the speaker while it worked. We'll seeAnnnnnnd update again! The company I bought from contacted me shortly after I contacted amazon and was very helpful and is sending me a new speaker free of charge. I don't even have to send the one I have back. I even had my teenage son set it up for me and he had no problems! I bought it to normalize the sound on my TV for those times that commercials are way louder than the show, and when action and music made the sound louder on anything we were watching. We are using it in an outdoor sitting area so we didn't want to have to place any additional speakers where there was no cover. The level of sound doesn't go very high - It maxes out at around 16 I think. That's okay for most tv shows but for some movies and for music via the bluetooth connection, it could use a little more range. The sound quality is decent; definitely better than just the tv speakers but not exactly what we were expecting. And last, it's a minor detail but it won't sync up with our cable remote control.
